50 Reasons Private GPs Use EMIS Web

Using different registration types for your practice list

Practice administration

In EMIS Web, when registering a patient, you have the option to select a patient registration type.

Different patient registration types trigger different behaviours.

The pre-defined EMIS patient registration types include:

  • Emergency
  • Private
  • Regular
  • Temporary
  • Dummy
  • Other

You can configure which registration types are available for your practice. Generally speaking, private GP practices will want to utilise:

  • Private - These patients are permanently registered at the practice. They will be included in your practice's EMIS reporting.
  • Temporary - These patients are temporarily registered at the practice, and after either 15 or 90 days their registration will expire.
