As you would expect with a modern and widely used electronic health record, through EMIS Web you can request pathology and view pathology results.

Most pathology labs are integrated with EMIS already, including nearly all NHS laboratories, and The Doctors Laboratory (popular with many private GPs).

Requesting can be done through either the T-Quest or ICE interfaces. T-Quest can be configured to print directly onto specifically designed A4 paper, incorporating pathology labels. T-Quest enables you to track printed requests and lab submissions.

Results are reported directly back into EMIS electronically by the lab. They initially arrive with a 'preliminary' flag, which exists until reviewed and approved within EMIS' workflow by a clinician.

Pathology results are coded, and results for a specific measures (e.g. full blood count) can be tracked over time numerically and visually.
