To add a CHIS cross-organisation patient warning to a patient's record in EMIS Web, you need to use the Care Record module. Follow these steps:
Steps to Add CHIS Cross-Organisation Patient Warning
- Access any Care Record module except for Medication.
- Select a patient using Patient Find if not already done.
- On the module screen ribbon, click Add and choose Code.
- In the Add a Code screen, type the CHIS clinical term or navigate through the code hierarchy to find it.
- Select the appropriate CHIS clinical term and enter any supplementary information in the Descriptive Text field.
- To add another code, select Add Another, or click OK to save and file the code in the record, then refresh the patient précis to display the warning.
"By automatically displaying CHIS warnings across shared Care Record systems, EMIS Web ensures swift communication of crucial safeguards, enhancing patient care and safety."
Local and shared patient warnings need individual review and adjustments before activating a shared agreement. CHIS warnings, however, are automatically shared among organisations.
Managing Cross-Organisation Patient Warnings
You can manage these warnings using the Manage Patient Warnings interface:
- To edit or delete a warning, the entry must belong to your organisation.
- To view shared warnings, consent is required under your care record sharing agreement.
- Always review local patient warnings thoroughly before updating or changing their sharing status.
