In EMIS Web, job categories significantly influence both the ability to access shared patient records and the functionality available for GP Connect appointment slots. Understanding these roles helps ensure that staff have the appropriate access and capabilities necessary to fulfil their duties efficiently.
Access to Shared Records
To view shared patient records in EMIS Web, your job category must be included in the default ruleset or specified within the sharing agreements. For organisations engaged in Care Record Sharing Agreements, there is an option to restrict access to shared records based on job categories. If not restricted, any user with a role within the default ruleset can view these shared records.
GP Connect Appointment Slots
For GP Connect slots to be bookable, the session holder must have a job category specified for GP Connect. This can include roles such as General Medical Practitioner, Pharmacist, or Health Care Support Worker, among others. However, not all job categories in the default ruleset are configured for GP Connect slots, which may require adjustments in roles to comply with access requirements.
"Ensuring that the right job categories have access to shared records and appointment slots improves operational efficiency and enhances patient care."
