Understanding Child Locations in EMIS Web Configuration
After setting up child locations for each practice within an EMIS Web PCN, you might notice that the PCN name is still visible alongside the practice details during appointment bookings. This occurs because, while child locations can specify practice addresses, the configuration maintains the PCN name for overarching identification.
Configuring Child Locations
To create detailed locations, go to Organisation Configurations > Locations. Here, you should select the PCN location, then proceed to add each GP Practice as a separate child location. Ensure each child location is referenced correctly in the Appointment Book Templates.
Practical Benefits
"Creating distinct child locations helps practices identify the correct address during bookings, minimising errors and enhancing clarity for both staff and patients."
The settings allow each GP Practice to be seen more distinctly, improving the accuracy of appointments and patient communications.
Configure Appointment Book Templates
Ensure that during the setup of your appointment sessions, you select the appropriate GP Practice location. This association allows the system to display the precise practice details entered, although the PCN name might still appear for clarity.
