Matching unmatched lab reports to patients in EMIS Web ensures that test results are properly documented in the patient's record, enhancing accuracy and clinical decision-making. To efficiently handle unmatched reports, follow these steps:
Accessing Unmatched Lab Reports
Begin by navigating to the Lab Reports section via the EMIS Web menu. Select Workflow Manager and click on Lab Reports. In the navigation pane, choose Unmatched to view all unmatched reports.
Matching a Patient
- Select the report you wish to match from the list.
- On the ribbon, click Match Patient. The Workflow Manager Task screen will appear, showing report details and any near matches.
- If the patient's name appears in the Near Matches list, select it. Otherwise, click Find Patient to search manually.
- Select the correct patient and click Match Patient. If only matched to a patient, the report's status will shift to Unmatched User if further action is needed. Fully matched reports will move to the Inbox with the status Matched.
Viewing and Completing the Match
Once matched, the lab report is added to the patient's clinical record, flagged as Not Viewed. Ensure to review such entries to confirm accuracy and determine any necessary follow-up actions.
Matching unmatched reports promptly ensures data accuracy and reduces administrative burdens, aiding in efficient patient management.
