To efficiently manage patient care within your organisation, completing an inbound referral in EMIS Web is essential. Here's how you can do it:

Steps to Complete an Inbound Referral

  • Access Referrals: Click the EMIS Web menu, point to Care Record, and select Referrals. This will open the Referrals screen for you to manage patient referrals.
  • Select Inbound Referral: On the ribbon, click 'Add' and choose 'Inbound Referral'. You'll be prompted to fill in the necessary details about the referral.
  • Complete Mandatory Fields: Ensure all mandatory fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are filled in. Omitting these will trigger a warning icon, and you won't be able to proceed.
  • Set Appointment Preferences (Optional): If applicable, click 'Appointment Pref', enter any specific information, select a time of day, and choose a location. This allows for a tailored scheduling according to patient needs.

EMIS Web streamlines the patient referral process, saving time and improving efficiency by ensuring referrals are accurately recorded and managed within the practice.

Once completed, the inbound referral will appear in your Care Record under Referrals. This systematic approach ensures that all parties involved in patient care are well-informed and that the patient receives timely treatment within the organisation.
