In EMIS Web, using sub-locations within a shared hub environment can vastly improve the efficiency of booking GP practices. Here are some steps to effectively utilise sub-locations:
Creating Sub-Locations
Sub-locations allow practices within a Primary Care Network (PCN) or clinics to have distinct identifiers, which aids in booking accuracy. To create sub-locations:
- Navigate to Organisation Configurations and select Locations.
- Select the main PCN Location and click Add to create a New Location.
- Enter detailed information, such as adding the PCN name within the address field, to distinguish the specific practice or service location.
Enhancing Appointment Templates
Once sub-locations are set up, utilise them in appointment templates:
- Use clear and descriptive session names that might include the sub-location or service type.
- Implement filters such as time, practitioner role, and organisation name to help practices identify available slots quickly.
"Having distinct sub-location details helps reduce the administrative burden by streamlining the filtering and booking process in multi-PCN environments."
