Importing relationships from an existing patient

This feature allows you to bring over existing relationship links from one patient record to another, saving time and ensuring consistency. For example, if two parents each need a link to the same children, you can avoid adding individual entries repeatedly.

Steps to import:

  • Open Registration and find the patient who needs the relationships added.
  • Select the Family/Relationship Links tab to enable the ribbon options.
  • Click Import Relationships on the ribbon.
  • When prompted, find the patient whose relationships you want to copy using Patient Find.
  • In the window that appears, the relationships to be imported are shown in the lower pane. Select Add next to each relationship you want to bring over.
  • Complete the fields (such as Relationship to patient, Next of kin, and Can Discuss Record), then click OK to save.
This streamlined approach helps administrators quickly replicate family or carer connections, reducing repetitive data entry and improving record accuracy.

Tip: If any relationships were imported by mistake, select them from the Family/Relationship Links tab and choose “Delete Relationship.”
