To reauthorise medication on the EMIS Web Issue screen, follow these steps:
- Access the Medication screen by navigating to the EMIS Web menu, pointing to Care Record, and selecting Medication.
- Select the required medication from the Current Medication list.
- Click on Reauthorise and Issue. This action will open the Reauthorise Medication screen.
On the Issue screen, review the patient précis to ensure all details are accurate, including pharmacy information if EPS is utilised.
Efficient Reauthorisation
Updating and reauthorising medications swiftly on the Issue screen can significantly save time, allowing clinicians to focus more on patient care.
If there are any safety warnings or alerts, these must be addressed before completing the reauthorisation. For any changes, such as altering the prescription type or adding patient-specific messages, utilise the options provided on the Issue screen.
After addressing necessary options or messages, issue the medication by selecting Approve and Complete. If you are not an authorised prescriber, use the request option to seek approval.
