Adding a diary entry in EMIS Web allows healthcare professionals to manage and keep track of key clinical and administrative tasks efficiently. A diary entry can serve as a reminder for follow-up actions or to record specific events related to patient care. Here's how you can add a diary entry:
Access the Diary Screen
Start by clicking on the EMIS menu. Hover over Care Record, and select Diary. If a patient has not been selected, you will be prompted to choose one before proceeding.
Adding a New Diary Entry
- On the Diary ribbon at the top of the screen, click Add and select Diary Entry.
- In the Search field on the Add Diary Entry screen, type the full or partial clinical term, and press ENTER.
- Select the appropriate clinical term from the options provided.
- Specify the diary details in the Diary Date section:
- For Date, either type the required date or click the calendar icon to select it. If the date is unknown, enter NK for Not Known.
- Indicate the Patient Age if relevant.
- In the HCP field, select the required healthcare professional.
- Add any additional notes in the Diary Text field.
- Click OK to save the entry to the patient's care record.
Utilising diary entries can streamline administrative processes by keeping all relevant information and tasks directly tied to a patient’s care record, ensuring vital actions are not overlooked.
Using Auto-Templates for Speed
To expedite the entry process, consider using an auto-template. This feature automates the prompts needed to complete entry of planned items swiftly. Access this by clicking Use Auto-Template on the Diary ribbon.
