Creating a GP Connect Bookable Timed Appointment Session
Access the Appointment Book: In EMIS Web, select Menu > Appointments, then Appointment Book.
Create a new session: On the ribbon, click Create Session. Provide a suitable session name and choose Timed Appointments as the session type. Enter your start/end times and slot duration (for example, 10 or 15 minutes per slot).
Enable GP Connect bookings: Under “All slots GP Connect bookable,” select Set all if you want every slot in this session to be available through GP Connect. If you only want some slots to be GP Connect bookable, highlight any slot you wish to exclude, right-click and use Slot Properties to deselect “GP Connect Bookable.”
Apply optional filters: Click Apply Filter to limit or reserve a number of slots for specific organisation groups. This helps ensure that only the right external teams can reserve those appointment slots.
Create the session: Assign a session holder, then click Create. Timed, GP Connect bookable slots appear with a globe icon in your Appointment Book, allowing other approved organisations to book these appointments if you choose.
Offering timed GP Connect sessions helps streamline cross-organisation bookings, so patients can be seen more quickly and your administrative burden is reduced.
