Configuring GP Connect Functionality in EMIS Clinical Services Hub
To configure GP Connect within your EMIS Clinical Services Hub, start by ensuring that GP Connect is enabled in all instances of EMIS that require its functionality. This integration allows GP Practices to book appointments directly into a Hub environment efficiently and requires careful setup to ensure seamless operation.
Steps to Enable GP Connect:
- Access EMIS Configuration: Navigate to Configuration > Organisation Configuration, and select your organisation. Click on Edit to access the setup options.
- Enable GP Connect: In the menu, select GP Connect Configuration. Ensure all related features are checked, excluding Access Document. This step is crucial for integrating GP Connect capabilities.
- NHS Spine Activation: GP Connect functionality depends on NHS Spine activation. If the functionality is inaccessible, contact EMIS at deliveryoperations@emishealth.com with your EMIS Org ID and National Code (Y code).
Organisation Group Setup:
Creating an Organisation Group is essential to manage GP Connect appointments effectively. This group should include all the PCN Hub members and GP Practices involved.
- Navigate to Configuration > Organisation Configuration > Organisation Groups.
- Add an Organisation Group containing the EMIS Hub and the sharing GP Practices.
- Each GP Practice must subscribe to this group for seamless appointment bookings.
Benefits of Using GP Connect:
"By enabling GP Connect, you can significantly reduce administrative tasks related to patient tracing while enhancing the flow of patient information across systems, ensuring that clinicians have the necessary information to provide timely and effective care."
