If you encounter a write-back error after saving a consultation in EMIS Web, it may be related to the patient's GP Links Registration Status or Patient Type being incorrect. Follow these steps to resolve this issue:
Ensure Correct Patient Type
First, verify that the patient is registered as a Regular patient:
- Open the patient record.
 - Navigate to Registration.
 - Select Change Patient Type and choose Regular.
 
Check GP Links Registration Status
The patient must have one of the following registration statuses:
- Notification of registration
 - Medical record sent by FHSA
 - Record Received
 - Left Practice. Still Registered
 
To view and update the status:
- Go to Patient Registration and click on the Status History tab.
 - If needed, manually change the status in Workflow Manager under Registrations by selecting Manual Status Modification.
 - Select the required patient and modify the status as necessary.
 
This functionality helps maintain seamless consultation write-backs, ensuring all patient interactions are efficiently documented and accessible across the healthcare team.
If problems persist, it may be worthwhile to confirm that the patient has a usual GP assigned on the EMIS Master Patient Index and that all relevant tasks are completed in the patient's care record diary.
